Spanish I students are taking their Chapter 1 tests. There is a multiple choice and a writing component. The writing component is open notebook, but not open book. They can use anything in their folder or homework folder or study diary.
French I students are preparing for their first speech. These speeches must be presented next week on Monday or Tuesday. If a student is absent he/she can do the speech after Thanksgiving. There are no re-takes on this since it is a CRES test. Students have been preparing for this for most of the month and we have done numerous activities to prepare. This includes:
in class oral exercices
worksheets
sentence line-ups
listening activities
a rough draft
peer editing
a final draft
and illustrating the paragraph (which will become their speech)
students have also received a list of activities to do in class or at home that will help them memorize their speeches. They can contact me over the weekend via email with any questions.
I am so proud of all the hard work my students put in- especially when they show me that they aren't afraid to make mistakes. They work hard to overcome obstacles and frustration- it is very inspiring!
